WHAT WE DO » QURBAN
The philosophy of ‘Qurban’ is that it is a demonstration of submission to Allah, complete obedience to Allah’s Will or Command and sacrificing everything for His pleasure. Nabi Ibrahim (AS) demonstrated this spirit of submission and sacrifice in the best possible manner. When confronted with the challenge of love and allegiance, he chose to submit unconditionally to Allah and suppressed his personal desires and love for his family and child.
Qurban calls for the slaughter of one's innate desires by placing the knife of courage and resistance on hatred, jealousy, pride, greed, animosity, love for the world and other such maladies of the heart.
Millions of Muslims around the world get together as Eid al-Adha draws closer. The ritual of sacrificing for the sake of Allah, namely Qurban, reminds all Muslims, regardless of their race, language and color of skin, that they are part of one Ummah (community).
“Whoever honours the symbols of Allah, it is surely from the piety of the hearts” (Surah al-Hajj, 22:52)
Allah (swt) has ordered us to celebrate Eid Al-Adha to remember Him and thank Him, and to slaughter a Qurban on this day. It is the Sunnah of our Nabi Ibrahim (pbuh) and was also practised by our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Qurban is a highly recommended Sunnah for those who can afford it and provides food for the orphans, poor and needy.
The Australian Hidayah Foundation invites you to increase your rewards during this gracious occassion by donating your Qurban and Eid gifts to the orphans, poor and needy, and to bring happiness into their lives. The cost of a Qurban is $130. We will distribute your Qurban meat and Eid gifts to the underprivileged Global Communities.
Prophet Muhammad said: "The son of Adam does not do any action on the day of sacrifice which is more pleasing to Allah than the sacrifice of animals; the animal will come on the Day of Resurrection with its hair, horns and hooves (for reward). The blood certainly reaches Allah before it falls to the ground. So make yourselves purified therewith" (Tirmizi and Sunan ibn Majah).
We would like to invite you to join us in performing these good deeds for our Global Communities and make the world a better place for the millions of people living in difficulty and poverty.
